Blog addiction

I can see this becoming a problem - I have discovered a couple of awesome blogs in the last few days; there are some terribly talented people out there who are letting random strangers take a peek into their lives - and I love it!!
Case in point;  - a world I have no experience of, but in one click of a mouse can be transported and educated, delighted and awed.
Maybe I have glimpsed the true value of blogging -sharing peoples experiences of life and inviting others into mine......

Time for a change

I thought a change of theme and colour might inspire me to write a bit more.... and actually it did! It got me thinking about change; I was at a friends house recently when a relative of hers (whom I hadn't seen for over 10 years) told me I look 'exactly the same'. On the surface I was pleased with the compliment it implied - ( I don't look older, fatter etc...LOL)!
But on the drive home I argued with myself - why shouldn't I change? Why do I have to look the way I did a decade ago? What is holding me back from an "update?"
I am by nature a planner, very few things I do are spur of the moment. How do you embrace spontaneity? Any suggestions??

Domestic Bliss

Housework and I have a love/ hate relationship. I hate doing it, but love the result afterwards. Today was a bugger of a housework day, the poor house has been quite neglected lately, and was screaming out for a bit of TLC. After a few hours of dusting, polishing and vacuuming everything in sight the place is looking almost new. Luckily both Shannyn and Ashlee like helping out, and today I had Ashlee with me to help wipe tables and dust skirting boards! (Thanks must go to my Mum for this willingness to clean, it sure as heck didn't come from me, lol!)
What I didn't expect to feel was the wave of satisfaction that washed over me when I had finished -  maybe there is something to be said for housework after all?

'i' give up!!

I am not a tech savvy gal. OK, so I can use a computer, mobile phone - tick, but if it has an "i" in front of it I struggle. A couple of months ago a friend of mine was kind enough to give me her old ipod, she having no need of it after upgrading to the iphone. It has taken me this long to be able to put anything on it; but must say am slowly warming to the thing - my only problem now is finding enough music I like to fill it up! Oh, and if anyone knows how to download a podcast I will be in debt to you forever!

The Seven Deadly Sins!

Oops, think I am guilty of them all;
The fact that I can comfortably put away a decent size block of chocolate in less than two days would take care of GLUTTONY.
I always want more and more cuddles and kisses from my beautiful girls; I am so full of GREED
Hmmmm, spending over $100 on face products in one go? My VANITY has got the better of me....
I am full of PRIDE that I have a job I have loved for seven years, and I can continue to do it well (and no, I am NOT going back full time!!!)
I ENVY those women who look well presented and "together" all the time - even with a couple of kids in tow!
My movie and TV series collection is nearing the 200 mark, and I love a hot bath with a good book to relax; my down time is SLOTH to the core!
I love where my life is at at the moment and LUST for even more good times with family and friends                                      xxxxxxxxxxx

Chalk and Cheese

I suppose it is quite common to describe siblings this way, but in this case it is so true! Shannyn, the older of my two girls is the introspective, cautious one; she will always suss out a situation before deciding whether to participate. She is a sensitive soul, happy to entertain herself and is starting to show real compassion and caring for her sister and those around her.
Ashlee is Miss Personality! It is very hard to miss the fact that she is in the room, always first to an activity or the food! Head first into everything, she is curious and impatient to try anything new, especially if Shannyn is involved.
Despite the difference, they seem to really enjoy each others company (for the most part!), and I am loving watching all the great imaginative games they are developing together. Love these two heaps!!!!!
